Connie checking in her luggage at British Airlines in San
Francisco airport. (I flew there from Seattle to meet her).
We both overpacked, and ended up pushing, pulling, and
kicking our luggage through the underground rail system,
through the streets of London, to our hotel, right.
Buckingham Palace seen on our first Walking Tour on
Friday, Jan. 21.
The Underground railway connects all of London. It
took a couple of days, but finally we navigated it well.

A Gothic church that held the bodies of the dead under
guard so grave-robbers could not sell the bodies to
science for extra cash. - Jan. 23
This is London Bridge - a bit of a dissapointment, but as
the song says... London Bridge is falling down. This is the
rebuilt one. See Tower Bridge behind. Jan. 23.
Still on the walking tour, (excellent tours
by London Walks Co.) This is a
Victorian Mall, a surprise as we walked
out from a narrow alleyway! Jan. 23.
Another surprise at the end of the Tour! We end up at a gothic
castle right in the middle of London!
Picadilly Circus! We popped up out of the underground rail, to see this busy and energy charged center of London. That
is what makes London so interesting, there is a mixture of old and new buildings, of all eras, in the small city.
Later at night, Connie and I go on a Jack the
Ripper tour to see the sights of white
chapel where the horror occured. Above is
the neighborhood we explored. A lively pub
is on the right, above.
The night we flew in, we walked to Buckingham Palace
and took pictures. See the spikes on top of the palace
gate. Jan. 20.
Connie stands by one of London's lively red
mailboxes!
